valve locks problem

so were about halfway through our transformation of my motor and we ran into the problem of the valve locks not fitting. i have both sets summit sells now and both do not fit my valves ><
picture of the problem. both sizes do same thing.

they sit too high. does summit not sell the right size
btw motor is a 1992 4.0

Are you using the factory valves? If so, you can still use the original locks. Do you still have those?

Yes they are the stock valves, the stock locks i threw away >< noobie mistake. But still I'm perplexed as to why the valve locks from summit don't fit
