Machine shop bill, Not so good work costs me MORE $$$!!!!

Well I started putting my engine back together this weekend after the cam failure. Got the cam in to the third journal, and it won't go into the fourth journal. So i mic'ed the cam and the bearings. So, I guess after building "hundreds" of jeep engines, Golen STILL doesn't know how to put in cam bearings in the right order... So it is going out to another machine shop to be done AGAIN

Yeah, I guess i happens to everyone once in a while. It just sucks to have to do it twice. I would assume that they pulled them out of the box and put them in that order, which was wrong

Dont feel bad I had a Golen Stroker and it lasted about 5000 miles and it was the cam bearings that went out. When we tore the engine down all the rings in every cylinder were lined up in a straight line.

The only thing that was ok on the engine was the head work. I would never recommend Golen to anyone.

I figured I would have them do the machine work because they sell Jeep engines and should know what needs to be done. I didn't have them assemble it. Still, they should know these things inside and out because according to Chad Golen they build "hundreds" of Jeep engines. Hope I don't find any more problems...

Piston rings don't stay stationary in a running engine so I wouldn't say that was his fault.

Were all of the oil holes lined up in the cam bearings, I can't see how else the cam bearings would go bad.
