Header collector question for stroker
I have searched and have seen some people say so and so has a 2.5" collector but when I look up the actual part they advertise 2.125" as the largest. FlowTech advertises 2.500", does anyone have personal experience with these? I have used their stuff before and wasnt real impressed. Can someone name a brand other than FlowTech that has an actual 2.500" collector size? I will be using the Edelbrock head which advertises the pre 1999 exhaust port locations. Thanks

Re: Header collector question for stroker
The thorley I am running has a 2.5" collector. but their adapter and donut gasket necks down to 2.125". I'm going to replace it with a standard 2.5" flange. However, I can't recommend Thorley's support.

Re: Header collector question for stroker
I'm also gonna go with the "guess not" answer. I looked and couldn't find anything so I eventually had to get one of the available headers and I just modified it to run a full 3" setup.

Re: Header collector question for stroker
My Borla 17039 is 2.25" w/ s-pipe and the NOS Clifford single outlet header I recently picked up is 2.5"(I want to chop an inch off and weld on a 3" flange). I've read that the Pacesetter is 2.5", but is iffy on alignment/quality. You can also get Clifford's newer dual outlet header and they sell a y that merges it into a single 2.5" (maybe get a custom merge to 3"). Isn't the Banks revolver a 2.5" outlet?

Re: Header collector question for stroker
Where did you see pacesetter being 2.5? I read 2 inch collector which seems small. http://www.jegs.com/webapp/wcs/stores/s ... sce+setter

Re: Header collector question for stroker
I assumed the PaceSetter header was two 2" collectors then into one ? pipe. That dual slip on pipe feature looks like an exhaust leak nightmare to me.

Re: Header collector question for stroker
Is the final collector bigger than the middle two? 2.5 inch?

Re: Header collector question for stroker
The end collector on that does look bigger than the other two. Was it possible mountaineerjeff to install that header with the pipes welded like that? That would solve the leak issue.mountaineerjeff wrote:Pacesetter is what I started with.

Re: Header collector question for stroker
I'm running a Gibson Revolver stainless header and it measured 2.5" at the outlet pn 51327. Looks like some sources have it listed at 2" but that's incorrect.

Captain Obvious here: You can save time and money when setting up your new header by making sure your down pipe and front drive-shaft don't occupy the same space.

Re: Header collector question for stroker
old news but I did this years ago. and it still works great. it would be easy enough to make another one as I still have the spare engine and transmission.
