Re: valve cover clearance
Mine does. It was tight, but it sealed. Steel cover, unmolested in that area. You could always modify the cover.
Are they the adjustable Harland sharp rockers?

Re: valve cover clearance
I have Harland sharp rockers and an aluminum cover and had to bend the steel baffle inside the cover back because it was contacting the top of the rockers,

Re: valve cover clearance
Best picture I could find. Steel plate inside the cover. I realize that the picture is of an older engine part but my 97 has the baffles. If I had to do it over, I would find or make a steel cover to fit since it seems like the aluminum cover amplifies the sewing machine sound.

Re: valve cover clearance
The steel cover isn't any better at reducing sound.
