I've been entertaining several options for an air cleaner with my stroker in my small-body AMC but haven't come up with anything yet. Have you gone over the rocker arm cover (like a YJ/TJ) or down toward the radiator (like an XJ)?

what did you do for an air cleaner in your small-body AMC?

Re: what did you do for an air cleaner in your small-body AMC?
a dark one, yeah:

Underneath the temporary air cleaner, you can see where I mounted the ECM on the shock tower. Forward of the ECM is the coolant recovery tank, then forward of that is the washer bottle. If I do go forward, it'd be a tight routing around the power steering pump. If I go over the rocker arm cover, there's hardly any space between the battery and the alternator to draw fresh air in.

if a cowl induction hood isn't out of the question the firewall on the cool side of the engine is perfect and will give you as much as 6% increase in power (12 rwhp on a 200 wheel hp stroker) if you seal it to the cowl opening.

A guy I know in Richmond VA dropped a Renix 4.0 in a spirit and here's the custom air cleaner adapter he used and retained the stock air cleaner.
