I'm in the process of lowering my scr to 9.0. Its a 4.7l and I am using a deck clearance of .005 and changing my combustion chambers to 65cc, dishing my pistons to 18cc and using .051 head gasket. The cam is a comp 68-232-4 straight up. My quench will be .055 and it should be around 9.2 scr/ 7.93dcr

I slowly removed material from the back of the bowl and also around the front and a light polishing at the valves.
Why is this a wrong thing to do to the combustion chambers? This is my first stroker build, so if this won't work then why?

I'm not saying you can't get 65cc out of it(idk), just when you do it, be consistent and take your time. Measure it afterwards with the valves in, some grease around the seams and on the head face, and then use a thicker square of plexi w/ a hole in it and a syringe to measure out the ccs.
