I'm going 4.6 with the modified poor man recipe (.020" over & stock cam). BUT, I need a new cam and lifters so I was gonna do a CompCam 68-232-4. I just wanna make sure everything is ok with this mix of recipes by adding the cam in there. Anyone have any knowledge on this? I have no idea why it WOULDN'T work, but better safe than sorry.
Thanks!
Chris

It'll be absolutely fine. With that cam you could even go slightly higher (9.5:1) with the static compression ratio.
Russ stocks a lower lift version of that cam if you want to retain the stock valve springs.

Thanks for the info 'Maniac. I'll go with the new springs for the added lift.

Re: Mixing stoker recipes together
I want to make sure I understand what I'm buying.... The 68-232-4 KIT springs seem to have a larger OD than factory springs. So that means I will have to get the machine shop to open the spring seat where it sits to accommodate the springs that come with the kit?
I also saw someone complain about the keepers and spring caps;
"valve springs/keepers/and valve spring caps are wrong dia for 4.0 jeep engines. To big will not lock on valve stem"
I am ok with the machine shop making room for the springs... but if the keepers and caps dont work, where do I go from there? Are the factory caps good for the COMP springs? What about keepers? Use the factory style also? What a pita.... hahahaha.

Update.... 15 seconds later.
I just saw this answer from customer service on Summits site;
"Thank you for your question. COMP Cams K68-232-4 camshaft kit will not fit either the 1996 or 1998 Jeep 4.0L engine due to the valve stems seals. We apologize for the error in our fitment data and will have this corrected as soon as possible. The other components included in the kit will fit the 1996 Jeep 4.0L engine.
Camshaft - COMP Cams 68-232-4
Lifters - COMP Cams 822-12
Timing set - COMP Cams 3219
Valve springs - COMP Cams 926-12
Retainers - 744-12
Soooooooo, who's correct?
Maybe the one guy complaining had something weird going on?
