I am new to all of this and this will be the first post of many to come because there is simply so much literature on this stuff that it is overwhelming.
Plan is to build a stroker for my 89 Comanche. I would like to source a block and start building while retaining the ability to drive the little truck. I found a block from an 89 XJ but somebody snagged it. What are my other options as far as the block goes? Would I be wise to stick to same era?

Re: Block Selection
Any block from an '87-'01 XJ would do fine. I used an '00 XJ block in my stroker build.

Re: Block Selection
If your anywhere near the Detroit area I have a block you can have. 98 XJ IIRC. Also have factory 12 cwt cranks available.
