Newb here.
I have a freshly built 05' block that just came back from the machine shop. Application will be in a 05 TJ. Recipe for the build is as follows:
Scat 9-4.2L-3895 lightweight crank
Icon dish pistons IC668-040. 3.915" bore, 3.895" stroke
Scat 2-40L-6125 forged rods 6.125"
Hastings Piston Rings 2M660040
Cam specs @ 050 Duration: 200 intake/ 208 exhaust, 128 lobe separation
Edelbrock performer aluminum cylinder head
Harland Sharp 1.6's
Port-matched 05 intake with 62mm T.B.
CR was calculated at 8.9:1
I'm by no means an engine building guru but the motor was previously used as a boosted 4.0L with the mild cam spec'd above. Original owner gave up on it from tuning troubles and I "acquired" with the intent to take over the project as a "boosted" & "stroked" 4.7L. Well, my desires have changed to scrap the supercharger (magnum powers) and run the motor naturally aspirated. My biggest concern is the the combination of pistons, rings and Cam were selected/used for forced induction which may (or may not) "choke the motor" from possible performance gains without the blower. Easier to swap in more viable parts with the motor on a stand vs. in the vehicle. 2nd question is what is a good injector for my application? Should the motor above still make 300/350 hp/tq? Thank you!
Good Recipe for 300hp/350tq?

I think you'd be closer to 270hp/320lbft with that combination. You'd need a bigger cam, higher compression, ported Edelbrock head, port matched intake manifold, and a 68mm TB to get anywhere near 300hp.

Understood. I think I have enough into it where those estimated HP/TQ values will be a considerable gain in performance from my tired, 170k 4.0L.

As Dino mentioned at a minimum because you’re switching it over to a normally aspirated Stroker and running the aluminum cylinder head your going to need to up the static compression ratio.
I offer Edelbrock specific dish piston matched up with my bushed steel connecting rod.
Feel free to reach out to me and I’d be more than happy to send you information and pricing on this or any of my other products and services.
Thanks,
