Before I start Thanks for the reponses on the Yella Terra roller rockers.
Now for the pushrods. I took .025 off the head and deck the block .030.
My machinist ordered what he thought was .040 under but the are actually .150 shorter.
Just placing a orignal one in there and taking zero lash on the pushrod I can measure.051
between the rocker spacer and the boss on the head. I believe this would mean .051 preload on the lifter.
I thought I needed to be between .025 and .060. Any thoughts and ideas on a different way to measure preload
to order right length pushrods.
Thanks

Re: Pushrod Length
One option is use an adjustable checking pushrod to determine the length you need. The other option is install the rocked until 0 lash. Using the head's valve cover gasket surface and a straight edge score a mark in a push rod. Now, tighten the rocker bolt down to spec and score a new mark (if the lifters are filled you may want to wait a little so it bleeds down first). Remove push rod and measure distance between the two marks. That is your preload.

Re: Pushrod Length
I went with the 1/2 to 1 full turn rule. Take up the rocker bolt until its just touching the pushrod and valve, from this point it should take between 1/2 to 1 full turn to achieve specified torque. All of mine landed near 3/4 of a turn with stock push rods.
