IP addresses in Italy blocked

I've just been informed by one of our Italian friends that IP addresses in Italy have been blocked. Can the administrator or one of the moderators help out?

Thanks for your patience and the heads up on this.

I did get an email from someone about this issue as well. We implement Geolocation blocks to prevent spammers and attackers from hitting this website. That said, i created an exception for the /24 of the user who contacted me so that should help. I am working with them to confirm as well.

The forum is not yet reachable from Italy, now having entered my ip I can connect but only from home.
This excludes new registrations and prevents other members on vacation abroad from connecting to the forum, even for reading only.

To prevent attacks, perhaps it is sufficient that the new registrations are manually approved by the staf and increasing the mandatory fields to be filled in.
