To sum up, I'm building a 4.7 with KB944s. My crank is ready with bearings, and I'm waiting on the pistons in a week or so. The rotating assy and pistons/rods will be balanced in 2-3 weeks.

I just got my 4.7 back on the road last Wed. Your gonna LOVE it! I'm still breakin' it in, but the smoothness and the torque are SOOOO nice. It requires less tranny "hunting" and downshifting, it's kinda' like a sports car, as Cheromaniac has described on his stroker webpages. It's worth the money and the wait, you'll see.
The pistons came in at the machine shop today, but the rings will arrive tomorrow (...go figure...). The pistons, rods and crankshaft will be balanced and ready in a few days.....
27#s should be good. When I was tweaking the psc1 to tune the 25.5#LT1s(on the 49psi rail), I ran out of injector to get the afrs down fast enough to 12.8 (I got low 13s that dropped .1/sec) w/ a load in 5th gear in the 2k-2.5krpm range. I am sure I could get the 27#ers(well 26.9 w/ the fms) to work better and not have the duty cycle maxed out.
I'll give you my opinion on a 27 lb injectors. On my build, a 4.7L w/ ported and polished head, 62mm throttle body K&N in my 2000 XJ the injectors I choose at first were something like 25 on a lower psi rail. On my 49psi rail it worked out to be 27 lbs. Without input from my APEXI it was running richer than 10:1 AFR after 3000 rpm. So, I wouldn't recommend them. I have another set that works out to about 24 lbs on th3 40 PSI rail that I haven't tried yet.
I finally bought ford racing 24lb/hr injectors on Ebay. They are rated 24lb at 43.5 PSI, and 26.1lb at 50 PSI. I should get them in about a week.
I'm going to pick up a brand new flywheel and a harmonic damper tomorrow, and I'll get them precisely balanced to zero next week. I'll go pick up my crank and my KB's at the same time.
I also received my Standard Abrasive Deluxe porting kit from the mail today.
That SA kit gives me a nice warm fuzzy feeling when I see it--I racked up a lot of hours with it. I'll break it out again sometime soon when I strip the paint off my DH bike and polish the frame.
That kit gives me the instant smell of cast iron dust stuck in my nose for days........ It also reminds me of the rust stain that my shirt developed after washing it because the cast iron dust on my shirt actually rusted LMAO

That kit remindes of staying after at work until 12 am porting my head an intake... as well as wearing safety goggles, a dust mask and coveralls in 90* weather. Mikey should have worn a mask. 60 hours combines... would I do it again? Maybe.. do I regret doing it.. not at all. If at all it was a good learning experience and just to add one more thing that you did yourself.
Question about rod bolts : Shoud I invest on ARP bolts (wich I'm having a hard time finding), or are new OEM bolts OK? Or keep my bolts that are currently pressed in my 4.0L rods?
Plus, there is a part number that I can't seem to find anywhere :
-A brass freeze plugs kit (do they include the front cam plug and rear oil plugs?)
