5.0 L Stroker Crate Engine?

Is there somewhere I can purchase a quality 5.0 L stroker crate engine (to swap into a 98 TJ 4.0L)? 
I was planning on placing a custom order from 505 Performance, but they seem to have a terrible reputation.
Also, if 5.0 is just a dumb idea, I'm open to suggested stroker crate engines.I apologize for failing to find this info myself.

I think most people would say the extra money spent on squeezing 5.0L's out of the normal 4.6/4.7L stroker formula would be much better spent on headwork or other mods. What's the purpose of the motor? Racing? Crawling? Daily?

You are already far ahead of the game by reading up on 505 and knowing to stay well clear of them.

Indeedy. Just go with a 4.6L crate stroker motor if you don't want to build your own and make sure you have a free-flowing intake, bored throttle body (minimum 62mm), header, and 2.5" free-flowing exhaust to help it breathe.

Its a daily driver/weekend warrior combo, east TN rocks & mud.

‘98 TJ 4.0L, Engo winch, fender delete, 2” lift (Rock Krawler/Currie), rear D44 Detroit Locker, 4.88 gears 35x12.5 Super Swamper LTBs and  35x12.5R15 All-Terrain T/A KO2

I would love to build a 5.0L myself, mostly because it is just sexy. I just don't have the time or experience at this point.

Would it be a mistake to upgrade my exhaust to 2.5" while still running the 4.0L? It's time to replace my cat. and muffler anyways.

If 62mm throttle body is the minimum what is the recommended? &/or Maximum?

Don't go through the huge ordeal to go 5.0 for just the number. A 2.5" exhaust would be just fine on a 4.0. No sense in spending money twice, and there is a lot of bullshit internet lore out there about exhaust back pressure helping low end power. Ignore it. Anything bigger than a 62mm TB will require opening up the internet FYI. I'm about to have to do that myself.

Cool, was hoping that was the case.

I've never seen a bolt-on 2.5" option, so I'm guessing that I'll need to find a good muffler shop to bend one for me.

You could go as high as 70mm but that's probably overkill, and the intake manifold plenum opening is only 62mm so you'd need to open that up with any TB bigger than 62mm. Since your TJ is essentially a rock crawler, my advice is stick to 62mm.
