I see this recipe and I think it what I am looking for...
Not looking for anything crazy, but want to build something better than a 4.0 and want to keep it on pump gas (87). Mostly because I want to turn 35's on a 1997 TJ w/ 4.88's. Will be replacing the 2.5l currently with 4.88's w/ 33's.. Will most likely end up putting a header on it and the stock intake.
I don't see too many comments about this build out here. Is there a reason for it?
Is there a good list of part to purchase for this? I see pistons listed, but they say mod them to 30cc, etc. Is there anyone that just makes them?
As for the rods, I see both 4.0 and 4.2 rods w/ a 4.2 crank. Is there just a good place to purchase pistons and a crank and use the stock 4.0 rods and make it just easy without any crazy mods?
My goals. Pump gas, slight build on a 4.0 for more power for the 35's, and the biggest one, reliability..
Thanks!

Not answering your question I know, but do you know about the frame differences between 4 and 6 banger TJs?

Not many people have opted for this build probably because they wanted something more high performance. Those who have done it love the abundant torque from right off idle and don't mind the fact that the party's effectively over by 4500rpm.
Contact Russ Pottenger for a list of parts to get you going with the build.

Did you get a parts list to start with? I'm looking for a place to start on my 87 xj.
