Timing videos on YouTube

Post by bigal389 »

Ok I've been looking at some videos on YouTube and came across this one:

Can someone explain this? Everything I've read says this is 180* out

He's obviously got the cam position sensor correctly placed there.

Nope. Both valves on the no.1 cylinder were closed so it was definitely at TDC at the end of the compression stroke.

nope, that is not how the sensor is installed. The window needs to be toward the rear. I don't know what the hell they are doing there with the paint and other BS. But that is not correct. It should look like this:

...and yet it runs fine.....I have never had or worked on a coil pack 4.0...so I can't comment on his "personal" procedure, but you can't argue with the results with him doing it on video, and it then running fine.

The only reason I can think of is that it is a waste spark system. Maybe that has something to do with it.
