I crawled under my Jeep and put a mechanics stethoscope on my transmission bell housing to see what I find because I get this ticking sound when my engine is running. The ticking sound is very noticeable when I put the stethoscope against the bell housing compared to anywhere else...can noise travel up from down there? It's actually pretty noisy in that bell housing, but that ticking seems to be coming from there when the flexplate is at. I've included a video showing where I placed the stethoscope on the bell housing to find the noise, don't mind the parts where I it on the oil pan because I didn't here ticking from there. I was actually trying to isolate the noise better using the stethoscope on my camera but it didn't work like I planned. The flex plate isn't old, and I've always had noise from there, it just seems louder now. Let me know what you guys think? Could this make the valve train seem noisy?
