piston swap

Hi all , New to the Forum .
I have a 1999 xj jeep cherokee with a 4 litre engine , which got the jeep death rattle ,stripped the engine down and found a broken piston ,the skirt was broken of.
My question is can i fit the pistons from the 1997 engine ,I had a look at them and they are a lot better made and look stronger ,I have compared all the dimensions and I cannot see why they would not work,

No problem.
If you replace the piston rings be aware there are different ring widths in later HO's.
