Jeep 4.7 Stroker Tuning
I recently just built a 4.7 stroker for my 1999 Jeep XJ. Its got AFE Headers and AFE catback EXHAUST a 62mm throttle body and running a 27# injectors. Im having problems breaking in the cam I cant keep it running past 5 minutes. The exhaust manifold is glowing red at 2000rpm. It will run for those 5 minutes and then pop out the exhaust and die. Do I need to reprogram anything?

Re: Jeep 4.7 Stroker Tuning
You could be running rich. I think the pressure on your fuel rail is 49psi. According to the calculator on witchhunter.com you would need to be producing around 300 HP to require 27# injectors. It is more likely that you are pushing under 250 HP....In which case you could be using a 24# injector. I think your injectors are too big.

What cam are running?
akadeutsch is correct, your injectors are too large. You need like 24#s. Take a look at the Neon/ Bosch 0-280-155-784.
