TPS range of null

I just put a replacement/used throttle body on my stock 2001 due to an ongoing vacuum whistle which I suspected was the shaft seals. When I put the replacement on.. I used the sensors that it came with..... my tps position on my scanner read 18 and the idle was hi...the original read 13.7...verified the throttle was backed off to the full closed stop but could not get it to read any lower even with the wiggle room in the mount bolts...replaced the sensor with the one from the original tb and now it reads 16 but the idle is good. Does anyone know what the proper range is for a 2001 as read on an ACTRON CP9580A scanner..thanks

The stock sensor should work as I have never seen a differences in location of the throttle tab. The usual test for the sensor is checking the voltage. 16, 18 and 13.7 don't refrence anything in the FSM.

Maybe those numbers represent percentage of maximum reference voltage (5.0v).
All I know is that the TPS voltage should be around 0.7-0.8v (value of 14-16?) with the throttle fully closed, and 4.2-4.3v (value of 84-86?) with the throttle fully open.

The numbers go to the low 80's when foot full down on pedal..I thought it was a plug and play but with the "new" sensor I read 18 and the idle would be about 1000-1200...if I loosened the sensor it would drop to 16 and the idle would be better. The original sensor read 13.7 to 14...these numbers are the readings on the scanner ..thanks for the help
