I’m going to be swapping a 1997 4.0L into a 1982 AMC spirit which has a 904 transmission. Are there any 4.0L flexplates that will bolt up to the 904 converter? To make it easier I don’t have to worry about the crank trigger wheel pattern since I’m using megasquirt EFI.

Yes there is a stock flexplate that you can use. There were some 904 transmissions behind 4.0's in a few years. I will try to come up with a number for you if the dealership cant help you. I use one myself right now in the race car.

I'll have to dig though my stack of flexplates to see if I already have one that might work. What starter are you using with your flexplate? I read the 4.0 one is smaller then the 4.2.
