hey guys I'm new to the stroker world and i want to build one my xj has the 4.0 obviously and an ax15 attached to the np231j i really want to make good power and i want to build his myself aside from machine work I'm 100% blank on what i NEED please if anyone can answer with a list of parts i need for the various displacements that would be amazing i have a 2k cap on my stroker build aaannnd a rebuilt transmission so keep that in mind please.
i have searched this site a lot and quite frankly it made my head hurt a lot THAT IS WHY IM ASKING FOR A TRIED AND TRUE STROKER KIT PERSAY THAT WILL WORK AND PUT OUT SOME NUMBERS
ps i spend my time driving to the trails but when i get there I'm in the rocks I'm not looking for go fast just a more aggressive motor!!!! thank you for your time

With a $2k cap on the engine as well as tranny rebuild, you'll need to keep the parts spend to a minimum. Therefore I suggest you replicate the modified poor man's stroker recipe (see link in my sig.). It's the simplest build 'cause the only parts that you'll use that aren't stock are the 258 crank, IC944 pistons, and a set of oversize injectors. The rest of the stroker build will be exactly like a stock rebuild. Go for a 20 or 30 thou cylinder overbore which will yield a displacement just under 4.6L.
You can find the 258 crank in ebay (or craigslist), pistons/rings at Summit Racing, and good used injectors also from ebay.
