Just thought of this. what's the service life of these puppies? Stock stamped steel can go an easy 500k. mine looked decent with just under 400k and they are cheap and plentiful. What about the rollers? You would think they would out last them but going through the FAQ gonridin says the rollers would be lucky to have half that service life?
I'm now thinking to just grab the mopar 229 and leave the stamped steel rockers arms? Vs the stock cam and 1.7 roller rockers? I use my cherokee as a daily driver and it'll rack up miles no doubt, I don't want to have a worry about something like that. It's also a expedition type rig so it'd suck to have 1 go bad(do they just go bad?) would suck as well. Help me out here guys..I wanted the rollers because I thought they were better but it appears differently?

I don't think anyone really knows the definitive answer unless they've run roller rockers to the end of their natural lives. I'd expect a good set of RRs to outlast the rest of the engine so I don't think longevity is an issue. I've only been running my YT 1.6s for 38k miles and happily I've had no issues so far.

So for daily driver type duties rollers would easily do at least 100k? That's probably 6-8 years worth of driving for me. When its up like that I guess I shouldn't need to be worried lol.

They should still be serviceable even after the rest of the engine has expired.Desertjr wrote:So for daily driver type duties rollers would easily do at least 100k?
