idle

Post by shawnxj »

well i finally bolted the adapter and 4.7 tb on the stroker. i used 1 of the 4.0 iac but the piston isn't long enough or big enough to close the gap and i end up running 1400 rpm idle. tried looking around to find the wire color/voltage but nobody has them listed. i can measure the renix and figure it out but have no way to find out what the ho color code is. the book doesn't list what each wire is for just the colors. if i can figure out the ho color code then i'm assuming i can use the iac since it's the same plug as an ho with a bigger piston.

also my aem wideband jumps around alot. mostly from 10 to 14 but if i turn the fuel pressure down 1 lb it jumps from 14 to ---. it never stays steady just constantly jumps around. i'm running ford blue top injectors which should be 24 lb and i have my pressure set at 39#

once i get that stuff fixed i need to figure out why my tranny suddenly doesn't work. it ran fine when i pulled everything for the rebuild 2 1/2 years ago but now it doesn't work at all

IIRC you may have to use the piston from the 4.7L IAC, not sure though. You may want to ask Maudib as I think he is using a 4.7L TB. Or hopefully he will chime in here.

Thats not normal for a wideband. A little jump is, but not that much. Maybe try the stock injectors? I know Maudib tried a few different injectors and ended going back to stock.

I'm assuming its and AW4 here. You have the flexplate bolted to the torque converter right? Check the fluid?

didn't know you could just change the piston

ya i was kinda thinking about putting a set of ho injectors in. or swapping the renix in and cranking the pressure up

think my transfer case linkage isn't timed right and i shifted from 4 wheel into neutral by mistake. i don't have a rear driveshaft in and i wanted to check my front end. my new tps should be here tomorrow so i'll know for sure then

well the linkage timing is off on my transfer case so that fixes the no drive issue

put a stock tb back on and a new tps and it's still reading weird and it won't go over 3000 rpm. tps voltage is rising instead of falling for some reason

going to put in another set of injectors tomorrow. my choices are the factory 88 renix injectors, 94 ho injectors, 97 and 99 injectors. i'm thinking the 94 injectors since it's the same plug. just not sure what pressure to set them at. might start off at 43 lbs

I had the same problem using a Dakota 4.7L TB with the IAC pintle on my RENIX. What I did was i found a similar IAC that used a larger pintle and made sure that it would close inside the TB. Once I verified that it wouldn't go through the hole in the TB, I removed the pintle in the RENIX IAC and put in the one that is the correct size. Worked just fine.

Is this RENIX or HO? If RENIX like your profile suggests, are you using all RENIX electronics? Including the Flexplate and Distributor?
If it feels right, then STROKE it!
