Boosted strokers

Post by Luke95 »

I am looking to do a stroker on my Renix 1988 cherokee block, it will be replacing the 200K+ motor in my newish 98

Id be going the cheap route with it and putting in a 4.2 crank with rods and 4.0 pistons

How deep of a dish piston do I need to get to a comp ratio of between 8:1 to 8.5-9:1?

Injectors
What size will work in a 98 fuel rail that is big enough to provide the fuel for the boosted 4.5?
I know 30# is the hot number on Pirate 4x4 but they are on stock engines.
I have the turbo and the renix manifold to mount the turbo to.
Tunning idears? I was going to follow the pirate recipe of a GM 2 bar map and flashing it :D
The turbos a 16G off a mitsubishi eclipse, I am looking for around 4-5 PSI of boost.

Any one able to help me a bit?

Will an ODB2 conversion be required? I haven't seen a RENIX flash.

Proud owner of many stroker parts, that have not yet spontaneously assembled themselves.

I think it's actually going in a 98, not a renix

92 XJ 4D custom borla header 3" exhaust flowmaster 50series muffler.

ATK on the way then an OBD 2 swap so flyin ryan can tune.

As long as your PCM number is supported, yes, we load tunes via the OBDII port , no MS needed.

It's a big difference on the boostcurve.
Supercharger has a pretty straight boostcurve from low too high rpm but turbochargers has a quick rising edge at higher rpm depending on the specifikations on the turbochargers.
It's because of that I put two small turbochargers at my Jeep then I got boost on lower rpm, If I instead have but one big tubochargers the boost had came on higher rpm and on a Jeep I don't want too have that.
There for it's a differens in mapping a supercharged then a turbochargd engine.

Twin screw superchargers like the Sprintex have full boost at low rpm.

Yes, Sprintex have a pretty straight curve from idle too high rpm but these superchargers don't give as much horse power if you will built a race Jeep but are perfect on a daily driving Jeep or terrain Jeep.
I see that you have a boost on winter at 7.5 psi and thats are not soo much.
I run at 18 psi on my 4.6 stroker engine with 2 turbochargers and have boost at 1200 rpm.
