Distributor drive gear

Post by Torqsplit »

I shopped around for a new distributor gear for my build and came up with nearly nothing. Hesco has a bronze gear but that doesn't really belong with my cast cam. Tried it once before and it wore significantly in less than 1k miles. No thanks. Nothing available from Chrysler unless you stumble on some NOS parts or order a complete distributor. I ended up ordering a gear from Summit machine(SUM-850047-12) and it looks pretty good. Appears to be steel and well made. No roll pin was supplied but the holes were drilled thru both sides which helps simplify install. Any thoughts/experience with these or recommendations on where to get others? Thanks!
