Flywheel interim ring?

Post by Desertjr »

Taking my flywheel to have it checked and resurfaced if its good to reuse. If its not I've been looking for a heavier flywheel, and then came across inertia rings for the 2.5l jeeps. What's your guys opinion on them? The one write up I saw, they added 9lbs. By could you do more? I'm thinking it would be similar to the 12w crank...added weight, smoother idle, the extra mass throws the next cylinder into its cycle...stuff like that.
I'm running the 232 crank which is the same weight as the stock 242 crank. Mine weighed 54lbs off my memory. Now I wanted the extra mass for offroading when slipping the clutch to crawl over stuff better without it stalling or wanting to die...running the ac exagerates this some as well. I think the 12w crank is like 20lbs heavier? So adding say 10-12lbs to the flywheel wouldn't be much different would it?
