I have a stroker which is running good on the stock ECM. I also have a unichip and software to custom program it... from all i am gathering the unichip only controls the signal to fuel and timing when the computer is in open loop during WOT... so i am interested in what ways i can control the fuel and timing during the rest of engine duty cycle...
can i trick the computer into open loop. thus allowing the unichip to be effective through out the rpm range...
are there other more effective engine management options...
how would a map adjuster work to help this problem???
I have an LM-2 and watch the AFR which is constant at 14.7+/- and at WOT its between 12.8 - 13.2
i would just like to see more power outta this motor at cruising speeds i.e. climbing a hill on the interstate..(i have stock tires free flowing exhaust, and intake 24lb injectors and 255gpm fuel pump rail psi @ 49.)
any suggestions are welcomed Thanks, AC

Re: Controlling the ECM
Looks like your fuelling is bang on the mark, so the only thing I can suggest is to slot the bolt holes in the CPS and move the sensor towards the centerline of the Jeep to add a bit of timing advance. You'll need to watch for pinging though especially when climbing hills.cameraman7d wrote:I have an LM-2 and watch the AFR which is constant at 14.7+/- and at WOT its between 12.8 - 13.2
What are the specs of your stroker and what ratio axle gears do you have?

Re: Controlling the ECM
If you're willing to ditch the Unichip, I can help, add additional features to the stock calibration and still retain closed loop. I can refer you to others that can vouch by my work.

Re: Controlling the ECM
I´m actually interested in what you can do, Ryan. Right now I´m running an S-AFC that I rigged up to work. Had to use an MSD DisTach driver to get the RPM signal massaged to feed to the piggyback, but it lets me control the a/f adjustment maps. No control over timing, however. What do you offer and what can I expect from it? PM me if you want to discuss offline.FlyinRyan wrote:If you're willing to ditch the Unichip, I can help, add additional features to the stock calibration and still retain closed loop. Ryan knows his stuff that I can vouch for.
