Finally had time to move my OBD1 controlled IAT from the intake manifold to the air intake.
A few minutes with a lathe and a pipe tap created an aluminum bung that was welded to the intake tube.

The difference was immediately noticeable with an increase in throttle response. Further driving has shown without a doubt an increase in low to mid range power. While I have not yet had the opportunity to bang the engine off the rev limiter. There is no doubt that the power increase will continue across the RPM range.
In several occasions I was able to lug it back up without downshifting. Something that was not as user friendly as before.
This IAT mod combined with Chris`s crank sensor timing advance has really woken my stroker up. It likes the extra timing and fuel.
Highly recommended.
No evidence of ping or detonation.
