83 cj-7 ECM replace with MSD box

I have an 83 cj-7 with the stick inline 6 and a Holley carb. I have an extra MSD 6A box and wanna know if I can get rid of the stock POS ECM with the MSD box. Any info would be great, thanks.

ECM box? You mean the aluminum igniton box/module on the driver's side inner fender?
