Valve cover & HS roller conflict

Post by jbxx »

I was putting the valve cover on ( 95 aluminum cover, 95 7120 head, Hesco spacer, HS rockers ) and think that the rockers are touching the side
of the cover. Anyone else have this problem? Did a search but didn't find much. Found some stuff about height clearance that was solved by the spacer.

I don't have an aluminum cover, but the spacer should be plenty tall to fit them. Are you sure its not the valve springs hitting the driver's side of the cover?

It very possibly could be the springs.
If so I guess I'll have to source a steel cover? I may be able to dremel some of the aluminum away.

You could try to remove some of the aluminum. If that doesn't work you could get a steel cover. I don't recall what spring setup you are running, but even with the steel cover and Hesco spacer I needed to massage the steel cover with a bfh.

Ebay, salvage yard or dealer. Make sure you don't get a valve cover from a cash for clunkers vehicle. You will have no luck getting all the liquid silicon left under the baffle out.
