Valve- piston clearance

Post by Grego »

With .040" shaved off the deck to get ground zero with the piston
.004-.005 off of the head to clean it up.
Stock springs
Very mild rv cam, lobe lift .258" stock- .253"
Printoseal 9076pt1 head gasket, I believe .051
Does it appear that I am still in the safety zone from making contact with valve and piston or :boom: :o
Just getting ready to bolt down the head.
Thanks for your opinions in advance!
Greg.

You will be fine. Last time I checked mine was with the Comp Cam 68-231-4 and I had a lot. I can't recall a number, but it was a lot. I have it detailed in my thread, but I say 1/6" w/o head gasket and a shim under the rocker, but I don't know if I meant 1/16"
