I have decided to build my Jeep engine stroker. The jeep is 2001 California registered vehicle so it is important to pass SMOG. The environmental climate where this Jeep will run is on an average 95 F with a humidity of 90%. I will be shipping this Jeep to the Philippines next year but to pass customs, it has to pass California smog standards first. My collected parts for the Stroker:
Crankshaft 4.2L 1989 model
Connecting Rods 4.L
Pistons: Keith Black 2229 0.030 over
Block NVH 4.0L
Camshaft: Crane 753905
Cylinder Head 4.0L, I may get it polish and ported depending on the cost
Gasket: 0.043 or 0.051
Fuel injection 2001 from my Jeep
Headers from my Jeep
According to the calculator from Jeep stroker if the block is decked at 0 and the dished piston at 13 cc, the SCR will be 9.26 and the DCR will 7.49. Is this correct? I do not want to play with air-fuel mix ratio.
What kind of injectors will I be using, stock, Ford or Accel?
Can this run on 87 pump gas? I need 87 octane rating.
Can I use stock rocker arms, valve springs? I’d like to use to keep cost down.
I will cc the head and the cylinders to get the right cr. I will also play with dish volume to get the right amount.
Also, do the connecting rods get balanced before the piston is press fitted? If yes, I can balance it myself first.
Please provide suggestions and or feedback.
Carlo

do a ton of reading . especially "from junker to stroker" . much info and parts compatibility there . your piston choice wont work. pin height is too low . kb 944's i think are for the 4.0l rods . also with that cam you'll likely need stronger springs . do alot of reading . it's all here . just dig in .

Without decking, the pistons will sit ~0.050" down the hole at TDC. If you mill 0.030" from the block you'll be left with a 0.020" deck clearance and if you use the 0.043" Mopar Performance (P4529242) MLS head gasket, quench height will be 0.063". If you dish the pistons to 25cc the SCR will be 9.0:1 assuming a 57cc head.
What kind of injectors will I be using, stock, Ford or Accel? Accel 24lb'ers with EV1 to EV6 injector harness adapters will work well.
Can this run on 87 pump gas? I need 87 octane rating. It will if you build it to the low compression specs that I stared earlier.
Can I use stock rocker arms, valve springs? I’d like to use to keep cost down. You'll need the Mopar Performance 5249464 springs, 4452032 retainers, and 4529218 locks with the Crane 753905 cam

if you get a new cam, you should get new lifters. brand doesnt matter, as long as they fit. the big throttle body isnt really a requirement, but it ould make it a little more fun to drive, maybe free up a pony or two, and bring up throttle response

Re: Stroker Build: Please check my list
I am having problems in buying the Crane Cam 753905. It may have been discontinued. According to Summitracing, an equivalent part Crane Cam 753901 is available. I checked the specs and is similar. Can anyone verify the 753901 as a replacement for the 753905? Also, for the stock OPDA of the 4.0L 2001 Wrangler model, is the gear drive compatible the Crane Cam gear?
