degreeing cam
reading alot of references to degreeing the cams during build . are there adjustable cam gears available ? or what else is done other than lining up the marks on the cam and crank with engine at tdcon #1 ? on compression stroke naturally .

Degreeing the cam means checking the manufacturers specs against reality, a 360* wheel is fixed to the crank and zeroed then a dial indicator is used on the cam lobes (you should check one intake and one exhaust) to check out the duration events.
There are multiple keyway crank sprocket timing sets and offset crank keys as well.
