Post by qubus »

hello!
I create the next stroker 4,6.
In this time I`m sure that the engine block and connecting rods are in the best conditions.
So, I have a question about bearnigs - main and rod.

King Bearings
Clevite

I can tell you the Clevite and Federal Mogul do not have the notches for the connecting rod oil squirters. I used the Clevite and did not add the notches but I only have about 100 miles on the stroker so take it for what its worth.

I got King bearings and they DO have notches and so far I don't have any problems after almost 5,000 miles.

My Sealed Power bearings (Federal Mogul) do have the oil holes. They are also bi-metal bearings for what it's worth. I cannot comment on having bi-metal vs. tri-metal bearings, though.

The King bearings do have the oil holes. I have tried a set of rods and mains. The rods performed fine. The mains weren't so good. Thicknesses varied between different spots in the same half, showing contact with the crank. Verified against a Clevite set.
