Main Bearing Oil Hole/slot alignment

Read several posts, none of which got answered so I am going to ask the question again:
Main bearings oil hole (actually a slot) on all the block saddle bearing shells except for the thrust bearing do not line up particularly well with the oil hole in the saddle. Only about 1/2 of the oil hole in the saddle is exposed.
Bearings are Sealed Power 7211M.
I have a few options:
1) run it like it sits
2) elongate the slots to so they are fully open to the oil passage.
3) order a different mfg bearing.
Cant remember ever having this problem before on a 4.2 liter build or on other engines I have assembled.
Suggestions?
John

One of my 258's had this problem, I moved the oil galley holes in the block, but I also opened up the slots in the bearing shells.

Had the same issue with my bearings. I marked the position for each one and then took a small round needle file the same dia as original slot and just extended the slot a little to fully expose the hole in the block. I stored the pictures in my old computer...will try to access for you..My machine shop guy said it didn't matter but I did it anyway. Have not run the engine yet..hopefully this spring

Found the pictures..they posted backwards but the one dated 08/30 was in the original config and the one dated 09/10 was after I enlarged the slot a bit. I have the HV pump so I wasn't worried about dropping too much flow into the bearings

Mine as well.

Both of those photos look ok to me, the one I had issue with was so bad that it starved #1 rod bearing and wiped it out, that was the only reason I took that engine apart.
But I like lots of oil on my bearings, I've even drilled out the galleys to make them bigger to flow more oil.

Thanks for the advice. I started filing the slots in the bearings to give full access to the oil passages. Running a standard volume pump since I had drive gear wear problems in the past so I want to make sure the passages are clear.
