Finally got enough miles on the stroker to feel comfortable with the switch to synthetic.
Picked up 2 gallons of Rotella T6 5w40 from wal-mart for a bit under $20 each, and a big Motorcraft FL-1A filter... Started the jeep and went for a 500 mile each-way weekend. The T6 is apparently a mid-level synthetic with "proper" amounts of zinc/Phosphrous for the flat tappet cams... so I'm running it and seeing how things turn out.
Jeep ran like a CHAMP. Valvetrain quieted down quite a bit, and oil pressure was DOWN a little (which is good). HV oil pump & 20-22 psi at HOT idle, 40-45 @ HOT hi-way speeds. it tickles 50-55psi at 45F cold start idle, and is at 60+ psi at COLD rpm (engine heats up rather fast, however, and is never there for long)
Rotella T6 5w40 oil change... GOOD STUFF!

after the weekend I have about 14K on it.. give or take a couple hundred. I have done 3 regular oil changes so far, all with added ZDDP... this was the first one without any additives.
