pushrod length and deck height

Post by sudo chop »

Ok, so, pretty simple question: If I deck the block .045, does that mean my pushrods should be .045 shorter to get the geometry right again? Is it more complicated than that?

probly a little more than that. your deck will be cut "equal and flat" but your pushrods dont quite sit straight up and down, but at a slight angle. need to measure during assembly to get the best length.

AMCinstaller is correct but I think the difference would be too small to be of consequence. If you go for 0.050" shorter pushrods you should be OK.

how big of a difference can 0.050 make? The pushrods won't bind b/c the lifters can absorb that little difference. Right?
