Hello guys ... this my first post and first engine rebuild. I have been doing a lot of reading last couple weeks and learned a lot. I have came up with the following: Basically:
0.030" overbore
258 crankshaft(12 wt)/connecting rods
KB Pistons IC944KTM-030 (21cc)
98 Stock 4.0 head
0.043 head gasket
Crane 753905 cam

Will this setup be ideal for 80%DD and 20% off road? Also, will I have any problems running pump gas with it (87, 89 & 91)? I am 16ft above sea level ....

If I am way off ... I don't mind getting schooled

The rod length you have inputed is wrong. When using the kb stroker pistons, you use the 4.0 connecting rods, length 6.125.

Ok ... used 4.0 connecting rods ... and the only difference is:

DCR changed from 7.91 to 7.89.

My engine is a short rod engine, zero deck and .041 head gasket. My dcr ended up at 7.75. I run 87 octane with no pinging. I think you could run 8.0 dcr with a tight quench (around .040) on 87 gas. I have over 12,000 miles and still running strong...knock on wood...

Looks like you've got your combo pretty well nailed down. If you shave 0.020" from the block and you use the 4.0 rods with KB IC944 pistons, you'll be left with a deck clearance of ~0.008", SCR of ~9.6:1, and a quench of 0.051" (assuming 0.043" HG). The Crane 753905 is a nice cam for daily driver use and yields a wide torque curve. I ran it on my stroker until one lobe and two lifters died after 34k miles (I think the lifters were at fault) and it pulled 17" vacuum at idle.

Sorry for late reply (been busy family) and Thank you for the info guys!! I really appreciate it!! Little change in my plans ... instead of 4.6 .. I am going for 4.7 since there is virtually no cost difference (same price for KB pistons). I am stuck between the following two:

1: By shaving block 0.020
Deck clearance: 0.008
SCR: 9.68
DCR: 7.87
Quench: .051

2: By shaving block 0.028
Deck clearance: 0.00
SCR: 9.84
DCR: 7.99
Quench: .043

Which one would you go for? Also, what length of push rods will I need for both?

Option 2 should be fine. Either way you'll need pushrods that are about 0.025" shorter than stock i.e. 9.600".

Can I reuse piston/rod pins or should I get new ones? What about bolts?

if you bought new pistons they should come with new wrist pins

I recommend new ARP rod bolts, but that would require the big end on the rod to be resized.
