Mopar is selling several different versions of their stroker. One is claimed to have a full roller valve train. 505 Performance says it isn't theirs. Anyone know where they are getting it?

Re: Mopar's roller cam in their stroker?
If I had an extra $7000 sitting aside for an engine, I would certainly have much more than 265hp... I am thinking a very well built stroker, turbo, and beefing up the rest of the drivetrain to handle the torque...

Do any of the other motors made by Jeep, Dodge, Chrysler have roller valvetrain and could the engineers have figured out a retrofit from a newer motor into the 4.0L? Im kinda doubting this but stranger things have happened...

Re: Mopar's roller cam in their stroker?
The lifter used in the 4.0 is the same diameter (.903) lifter as has been used pretty much forever in Mopar and AMC applications. There are an abundance of roller lifters available. I don't know the lifter bore centerline difference on the 4.0 but even if there were not a tie bar already available they are easy parts to make.
So that leaves the cam core. 505 is not likely manufacturing their own cam cores, now that Crane is gone there are only a handful of cam core suppliers in the country that supply all the well known cam companies and one would guess Mopar has their phone number and could place an order big enough to get any of them to make a core for them.

Re: Mopar's roller cam in their stroker?
The 4.0L lifter isn't exactly the same size as a Chrysler lifter. It a bit larger, but that won't matter as most of the after market lifters are of the chrysler size. Of the several lifters I have measures only the Mopar, Crower cam savers (modified Johnson) and the Johnson lifters are the Jeep size. There maybe more just because I haven't measure every lifter used in a 4.0L.
505's roller cams are most likely ground by Bullet as their flat tappet cams are. Also, the have a modified/new tie bar for their lifters. What I would like to know is the price of the Mopar unit when/if they start selling them alone and if they are billet or cast.

Re: Mopar's roller cam in their stroker?
Pretty sure they are a .903"-.904" daimeter lifter Sealed Power part number HT-2011 (made by Johnson) same diameter as a Mopar but with through the pushrod oiling and used for many many years in AMC V8's, L6's, and by Mopar guys that converted to pushrod oiling. So sure in fact that I would bet money on it.....
