new to this forum and have looked at couple pages about replacing my 97 TJ steering box with one from Durango. Someone said that a box from 2006 and back would fit but there seem to be several different boxes for the different kinds of Durango. Anybody can point me to the best one I need.
Thanks

Re: STEERING BOX BLUES
There was a post on NAXJA not to long ago that mentioned a few different types of boxes. Some of them had an issue of not being able to lock in one direction or the other.

Went to the local salvage yard and they said there was no difference between the two. I don't really think they knew much

Re: STEERING BOX BLUES
So I have posted on several sites and nobody can really tell me why people use the Durango steeriong box. Not heavier duty and should be torn apart and modified to be used correctly and the different steering ratio is not alot different when it comes to driving. Why ask why. And it's more expensive that a Jeep one.

Re: STEERING BOX BLUES
The box from the grand wagoneer is your best bet. It gives you a 4th mounting location, is otherwise bolt-in and has the same ratio as the stock box. I've been running one in my ZJ for over a year now.
