Stroker kit suppliers

Im in the process of building my 1st stroker (4.5). Ive a 96 4.0L that will provide the basis. Im having trouble sourcing a good 258 used crank here in the UK as they are quite rare here and the ones that ive found have grooved seal faces. So have decided to stop wasting time and import a stroker kit from the US. Ive got my mind set on the Hesco product as i already use some of there other bits and have been pleased with their quality and support. But before i swipe my card on such a big investment i just wanted to look and see what else was out there.

I cannot get their web site to work correctly and further google searches do not bring any other info up. The prices look very low.

Has anyone dealt with / used this company and its stroker kits.
I would be very interested in your comments to see if its worth making further contact with them. Its expensive shipping heavy jeep bits to the UK so I want to choose a supplier well.

Hesco is very good, but their stuff is expensive. Also, I know that there are a few people in the UK that use them.


I have never heard of JRE racing but they do have some very nice items, some of which I have never seen before. Their Eagle SIR rods look nice and I would probably have purchased a set if I had known about them. The only Eagle rods I have seen go for $50 cheapest. Their custom pistons aren't priced too bad either. I like the looks of their 4.7L kit and the price is pretty good.

Now, they also have 4.8 through 5.0L kits that use a 4.0" bore. On a bore that big you will need to have your block sonic checked to see if the piston walls are thick enough.

googling "jake's racing engines" brings up several results. Including one on NAXJA, which shows Goatman is running a Jake's engine. May want to ask him a few questions.

Thanks for the info Silver XJ, one of the original contacts I had, called me on Tuesday saying he has found a good used 12 counterweight crank and rods. I went over yesterday, its a good one, seal face and end float cheeks perfect. Jornals on nominal size, so just a 10/10 grind and balance needed.
