I've started a mess as my 98xj popped a oil pump @ 280k
I've got ..

a 88 block, 95 head, next week a 9.2yj 4.2l
I already have a 01 intake and borala header ..
I hope to get the porting started this weekend (just a bit)
then pickup the 4.2l next week !

I have a 88 cam , a 98 cam and I'm hoping to get some $ up for a new one
but I was wondering if I had to use stock which is the best ?
also I learned that the 88 head used bider stems for the valves then the 95
..crap

Re: ghetto garage build !
Can I use the girdle from my 98 block on the 88 block?
I've not seen it open yet, and I'm wondering if it's like a honda one
(alloy addition to the main caps machined into place)

Re: ghetto garage build !
i think you can use the main girdlw but youll need to space it out from the caps a little bit so it will clear the crank.

Re: ghetto garage build !
You will also need the main cap bolts with the stud end for the main girdle to fit.

Re: ghetto garage build !
so if I've used the calculator right, the base stroker with the 258 rods and the 99/01 cam
makes for 9:79 s and the "perfect" 8:1 d , with the ford 24lbs injectors I should (at sea level)
be able to make this run on 89?
