now i have a new to me engine harness, different map sensor, adj map sensor, different knock sensor, and checked compression. the map adj doesnt seem to work, the volt meter never moves when you adjust it. my compression goes 90, 120, 120, 140,120, 90. 1-6. it is rich as hell, blck smoke, gas smell in the oil, and has developed a pretty good miss. a guy i work with thinks i need to adj valves?. guess it coulnt hurt. could i have it out of time? i idexed the dizzy.
im at the point of letting someone else fix it cause evidently i cant. someone please help. i've been using all you guy's suggestions so keep em coming. thanks

Re: fix my stroker heep, plz
The low compression is either due to the cylinders being washed by the gas from leaky injectors, valves/seats needing to be lapped, or bad head gasket/warped head. Two xjs I've bought w/ hg/valve issues ran like poop until above 1.5K where the compression was high enough not to run rough.
