FYI for those running ARP rod bolts...

Post by SilverXJ »

Don't recall what tipped me off, but the APR rod bolts take a different torque number than stock. Stock is 33 ft lbs. After some searching the ARPs for stock rods takes 40 ft lbs using their lube to get the correct torque. ARP says to ONLY use their lube. My machine shop gave me a few packets for free, but to me it just looks like a moly lube.

The ARP website has a torque/stretch chart and does list 40 ftlbs lubed as the torque for our rod bolts. They also say to tighten/release the nuts 5 times before giving the final torque..thanks for the heads-up. I would not have thought to check and would have had them too loose. Good timing too, I will do the final torque sometime this week or next
