Its mounted vertically. Has the tps, should be able to figure out the wiring. You would need to do a little machining of the tb and an adapter but that should not be too hard. The tb looks huge, makes ours look really little.

Look at this one Zorm, it retails for $135 all day on a Mustang parts site! It's a 70mm with no "step" inside like many that require to be bored out. That set screw may cause a problem, I dunno, I have not popped the two hoods yet to compare. I'll try to do that today and get pics if they are indeed close. This throttle body fits on 4.6L V8 Mustangs 96-04.

please do the mentioned research and lets see if that TB will work.

FWIW I have secured an OBD2 engine harness and now looking for a dash harness to swipe the OBD2 port from.

Time to start taking notes and developing a strategy to convert my OBD1 to OBD2

George, that is what it kinda looks like. Did some more research and foud the stock TB to be 69mm. The plate inside is real close to the bottom of the TB so I am thinking when you make an adapter, it would also need to have the lower IAC port machined into it. Then you would make a elongated hole in the tb and somehow, mesh our stock IAC onto the TB and the adapter plate. If I did this, I would also make the opening on the 2000 intake larger.

thoughts?

Granted, that pic you posted is $135.00 but I can get this one for $21.00. Also, do I really need a larger TB since I only have a 4.6 poor man's (bored .30 over) and the stock 4.0 cam?

Here's some comparison pics from my 98 Wrangler and my 04 Mustang GT with the stock setup. I see that the set-screw on the stock T/B does not protrude from the bottom as it appears the aftermarket 70mm does. I like the $21 price tag on the Ford T/B as well that Zorm found. I wonder if the guy that made the adapter for the 4.7 Dakota T/B is interested in making one for a Ford T/B??? I still don't like the looks of the linkage though.

Picked up the ford tb this afternoon, 20 bucks. Looks like TPS will bolt on. Some slots made before and after the throttle plate and some creative epoxy/weld build up and the other sensor should work. Making an adapter plate should be easy, two holes on either side almost line up exactly. Kinda strange, the tb starts out narrower then larger after the throttle plate. I need to shoot up pics. Should do that tonight. Actually getting this to run may be a little while. I am still getting the engine back together and still need to thin out the wire harness for use with my old jeep.

Been on a jeep hiatus lately, so I just found this....
Heres a link to my TB thread. I got 90% through adapting a Durango TB and decided to just bore a stocker out and make a new TB blade. I can get more pics if anyones interested. I also have the fixture and blade blanks to make more of the TBs if anyone were interested.
