If I am not mistaken, I do belive the piston pin hole in the piston is offset.

yes, the piston pin is offset. To reduce noise and piston slap. However a common trick for a bit of extra power with stock pistons was just to turn them around. I have heard of this being done before, but I don't know its long term effects. Given they are forged pistons to begin with they will be nosier that a standard piston. I don't know what it would do for quench effect either.
Stock, the flat spot on the piston goes on the driver side.
