I have been adding half a bottle to every oil change, sence i stop using diesel oil. and went back to my favorite oil.
shouldn't need it as its a stock 300,000 4.0.........but you know the old saying....... "Pay me now, or pay me..... MORE.... latter" :stick:

Too thick, and not potent enough. It will thicken your oil, and dilute other additives. If you want to boost zinc/phos you want to use something about the same visc. as your oil, that doesn't require you to add much so you do not dilute other additives. The best additive I could find after about a year of searching is crane cams super lube, here is a link to a Virgin Oil Analysis (VOA) of it. http://bobistheoilguy.com/forums/ubbthr ... ost1148971 There are a couple others such as Camsaver (i think) and ZDDPlus that are good, but are not as nearly as potent. Here is a VOA of ZDDPlus http://bobistheoilguy.com/forums/ubbthr ... 92&fpart=1

If you use the Crane cams super lube do you use the amount specified on BITOG, i.e. like .825 l?

It depends on your starting ZDDP level, and your target level. For example, *most* SM 30wt oils are around 800ppm zinc and say you want 1200ppm. You would need to add 400 ppm. In order to do this all you would need is 0.1 oz per QT of oil. My SBC has a 10 qt sump, so I would need to add 1 oz TOTAL to raise my oil from 800 to 1200ppm. As you can see even with this large sump not very much is needed to boost your oil. All in all this really shouldnt affect your viscosity or other additive levels. It is best to perform a VOA on the oil you wish to use, if you cannot find one on BITOG. To play it safe you could have a VOA done on your frankenmix to verify your final additive levels. This would also give you a baseline for comparison with your UOA.

One problem, Crane Cams closed their doors last Friday. Maybe you should stock up.

It is also very important not to overdose, as too much ZDDP CAN be corrosive. Obviously this would be pretty easy to do considering how concentrated this stuff is, it is pretty close to pure pourable ZDDP. Personally I run about 1200-1400ppm zinc/phos in a Hi-Pro motor, as I believe this to be sufficient. With this in mind there ARE fully formulated oils out there with these levels.

I know, time to stock up. Its to bad b/c Comp Cams break in add has very low levels, enough to lower your oils levels. And it was like a 90w....I also posted a VOA of it on BITOG. Ill post up a link later, when im back at my computer. Ill try to find out if the superlube is bottled by an outside source and if it is going to be relabeled......

Oh geez now you are here too ? Did`nt you get enough BS thrown at you from Pirate ?
http://www.pirate4x4.com/forum/showthread.php?t=763944

Thickens your oil ? Dilutes your additives ? 1 pint to 5/6 quarts ? Give me a break.

After you asked about Crane closing the other day. You now are advertising there products ?

EOS has a proven track record that even you cannot tarnish.

Mr. C, like those that spoke on Pirate. Please go back to your own little world and leave us alone. I think you have pissed enough people off with your BS. :boom:

STFU. I may not know that much about motors (I never claimed too), but I do know oil! Here is a VOA of EOS for comparisons sake, you be the judge.
