Scorpion roller rockers

Post by dwg86 »

Scorpion is a company in Florida that manufactures aluminum roller rockers. The Scorpion roller rockers are Made In The USA, but the price competes with the off shore companies. I sent them an email explaining the popularity of the jeep stroker and asked if they have considered making a roller rocker for the jeep 6 cylinder. Here is my email and thier reply.

My email...
The Jeep 4.0 has become a popular engine to modify for performance. Stroking the 4.0 with an AMC 258 crankshaft has become a popular build for the JEEP(see www.jeepstrokers.com). Keith Black has made a forged (on the shelf) stoker piston for this application because of its popularity. Has Scorpion thought about making a roller rocker for the AMC/JEEP 258/4.0, or should I say would Scorpion consider making a roller rocker for the AMC/JEEP 258/4.0 engine?

Thier reply...
hi david yes we have looked into this application and have a prototype. sorry to say it will be a while before production will start . We have alot of other projects going on write now.

Scorpion makes real nice rocker arms. They are packed up like jewelry and the company stands behind their work. A bout a year or so ago another company began producing knock off rocker and sold them as Scorpions. iirc if you got ripped off by the fake ones you could ship them to scorpion along with info about where they came from and you would get a set of their arms at a very good price [it might have been free but I can't remember].

I've seen their BBC and SBC arms and they are beefy and would probably wack the valve cover if I was to try to use them and a set of guide plates on my jeep head. Please keep us posted on any updates you happen to see.
