I have a 2004 TJ 5spd which I've owned since new and which has just under 75k on the odometer. Excellent history, no issues with the motor ever except the ubiquitous leaking RMS. I'd like more power but still want it to run smooth on the low to mid end and have good low end torque with good rock crawling manners. I have made some light performance mods and can tune it myself with HPTuners. Budget wouldn't be unlimited, but I can afford to do it right whatever route I choose to go. I'm not in a rush and am kinda thinking about buying the parts now and then doing this as a project when I retire a handful of years down the road.
#1 Take my known good low mile block apart and have a machine shop prepare it for whatever stroker setup I decide to go with.
#1A Bore out the cylinders - if so, what overbore would be optimal?
#2 Look for an appropriate well worn donor from a 00-04 TJ or WJ for a build while leaving my current motor as is.
#3 Buy a complete stroker from a reputable builder.
#4 Just do a cam (possibly Newcomer's steel roller cam), injectors and Edelbrock head upgrade and leave the bottom end alone aiming for ~250hp at the crank.
Realizing I'm in a stroker oriented forum, what would you choose given the options? What pros and cons would weight your decision?

Re: Stroker starting point - thinking ahead
Back in 2004 when I built my stroker, I bought a junkyard engine and built that up into a 4.6 stroker while keeping my original engine as a spare.
A couple of years later after I'd clocked up a few thousand miles on the stroker and could trust it to be reliable, I sold my original engine to another Jeeper who also built it into a 4.6 stroker!
