So here are my 0-60 attempts, or just how fast my stroker is in general, just for fun. My stroker is a mild build with a .20 overbore, a stock '91-95 cam, but it has the horseshoe intake, bored TB, ATP headers and a glasspack; so it's nothing really special but I think I did pretty good. It's fun to drive, it's punchy and you can feel the torque pulling you back to your seat, it's awesome.
This first video is the best I was able to do for a 0-60 on the flattest road I could find, and I start the count when I floor it haha. I think I get under 8 seconds, like 7.6 seconds or so. I give the throttle a little pump before flooring it cause my YJ doesn't seem to like when I floor it from a dead stop, and I get a smoother acceleration when I do it that way. I like that you can kind of hear the tires chirp when it shifts into second if you turn up the head phones in this video, I like driving this thing haha. Here's more info on my build:
4.6 stroker:
OBD1 Fuel injection conversion
'96 4.0 block and rods, .20 overbore cylinder walls.

Bored throttle body (gasket matched)
Horseshoe intake
Ebay atp headers, Cherry Bomb glass pack muffler
3.07 gears, TF999 three speed Automatic (non computer controlled trans)
Steel rims with stock size Wrangler tires
Hardtop and doors from CJ

Second attempt, but it's more of a, acceleration than a 0-60. 50mph is on the very top/half way of the speedometer for reference: https://youtu.be/527FhAuxJ8E?si=lZDPxA2nz-4ixtUP

Thanks! I want to remove that curvy tail pipe and replace it with something with less restriction next.

Re: My 0-60 attempt/Stroker acceleration vids
This video shows a Rambler with a VAM 282 4.6 engine, which is a bored out 258 with a different cam as well. The owner claims to be able to do 0-100 km (0-60) in 8.8 seconds, which is pretty impressive I think. He also claims that VAM put the 4.6 up against some V8s and came close to being tied. It just shows how much potential the 258s have. I had a 258 before the stroker and tool way loner than 8.8 seconds to get to 60 mph haha. https://youtu.be/pESlAmUXldY?si=7kx0gF2_O3SbRtHP
Also, they say that you get V8 power with the strokers, and I believe that after doing my runs.

Re: My 0-60 attempt/Stroker acceleration vids
That might have been true more than 20 years ago but not with modern V8s.
The real advantage was that Wranglers and XJ Cherokees were lighter than most SUVs, and even a mild 245hp/310lbft 4.6L stroker would make them run like a raped ape.
However attempting to get 300+hp out of a stroker isn't cost effective, and a Chevy 5.3L LS V8 swap is the best choice if you want that level of power. If that still isn't enough, you could do a 6.4L Hemi swap or even a 707hp Hellcat swap.

Re: My 0-60 attempt/Stroker acceleration vids
True, I was thinking of the older V8s, 200hp is nothing these days. If I were to put a turbo or super charger in mine, I'm sure I can get it close to 5 seconds which wouldn't be too bad.
